Betty Lou Smith

Betty Lou Smith, 84, Nevada, passed from this life on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at her home in Nevada. Betty was born November 26, 1932 in Marshalltown, IA to Adelbert H. and Leona (Eastman) Fields. On May 14, 1983 she was united in marriage to William F. Smith in Las Vegas, NV and he preceded her in death.

Betty was raised in Marshalltown, IA. From 1956 – 1983 she lived in California. During that time she worked at Frito Lay in Englewood, CA for twenty-five years. In 2000 she moved to Sheldon, MO. Three years ago she moved to Nevada and has continued to reside here since that time. Betty was a past member of the Pentecostal Church in Nevada. She loved to play Bingo at the Elks in Nevada, and especially loved to visit with people.

Survivors include one son, Steve A. Williams, Nevada; three daughters, Diana K. Wooley, Nevada, Debra Jackson, Springfield, MO, and Cathy J. Norman, Bullhead City, AZ; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sherry Gremmel, Lexington, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Williams; one brother, Delbert Fields; three sisters, Jennie Rhodes, Marjorie Hoffman, and Irene Schmoranz.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Brian Gremmel officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
