Obituary - Grace Katherine Fleener

Grace Katherine Fleener, age 97, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed from this life on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Cedar County Memorial Hospital, in El Dorado Springs of age related causes. 

Grace was born May 3, 1920, at Rich Hill, Bates County, MO, to Bailey Carrington "BC" and Mattie Beatrice "Cricket" (Jackson) Ketterman . 

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Marvin Fleener on January 30, 1939, at Butler, Bates County, MO. They were married for 60 years when he preceded her in death August 30, 1999. 

Grace was, except for a short period as a child when her father worked in the oil field in OK, a lifetime resident of Vernon and Cedar Counties. She was mostly raised in the Ketterman area of Vernon County. She especially loved being with her family and many friends. She needed no excuse to have a yard sale or to attend someone else’s. She loved to fish, collect stamps, tell slightly windy stories, and play Bingo. Earlier, when her fingers were younger, Grace played beautiful five finger tunes on the guitar.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth; seven brothers: William, Paul Kenneth, Bernard Harley, Don Marvin "Pete", J P, John Lowell, and Bobbie Eugene; and two sisters: Peggy Lou and Freida Fern.

Survivors include four sons: Glen Marvin and his wife Lora of Vernal, UT; Claud Earl and his wife Beverly of McKinney, TX; Carl Ray of El Dorado Springs, MO; Bobby Dale and his wife Connie of El Dorado Springs, MO; four daughters: Bonnie Jane Holland and her husband George of Camdenton, MO; Opal Katherine Erickson and her husband Allen of Kansas City, MO; Mary Ann Davis of Nevada, MO; Alta Louise Kukovich and her husband John of Creighton, MO: one sister Betty Jo Groves of Wichita, KS; twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many, many nieces and nephews; and other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, with John Kukovich officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Virgil City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: John Erickson, Johnnie Kukovich, Bobby Boyle, Marcus Parsons, Steve Elliott, and Wayne Lee Fleener. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jake Kukovich, Bill Holland, Daniel Parsons, Edward Earll, Kenny Fleener, and Robert Wayne Fleener.
