On this day in 1907, Robert Heinlein was born in Butler, MO. Considered by many to be "the Dean of Science Fiction Writiers", Heinlein published 32 novels including is most widely known novel, "Stranger in a Strange Land".
After a return visit to Butler in 1980, Heinlein generously donated money for an expansion of the Butler Public Library. Here Robert is pictured in the carriage.
