Update: Adrian man arrested after attempted armed robbery/stabbing

On Saturday 07/08/2017 1:30 P:M THE Adrian Police Department, Bates County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to 300 N Old 71 Highway for a report of an attempted robbery and stabbing. 

A female victim was located at the address and was life flighted to Research Hospital in Kansas City as a result of her injuries. After interviewing the victim at the hospital a suspect John P. Garcia 54 years old of rural Adrian was named.

Mr. Garcia was then picked up at 7:01 P:M at his residence on E Highway. Mr. Garcia was transported to the Bates County Sheriff’s Office and booked in on assault in the 1st Degree and is currently being held on a $50000.00 cash or surety bond. There will be possibly more charges pending.

The Adrian Police Department would like to thank the Bates County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol for their part in the capture of the suspect. It was a perfect example of agencies working together to protect the citizens of Adrian.
