The family suggests memorial contributions to the Gary Michael Memorial Trust, a police academy scholarship fund, that will be used to memorialize Gary. Gary was born in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday September 14, 1979. He went to Clinton High School where he participated in JROTC and graduated in the spring of 1998. After graduation Gary entered into the United States Army, where he trained as a Military Police Officer. He was honorably discharged and persued other careers including being a salesman at Greg Smith Ford. Although he enjoyed the other opportunities he had he never truly found his childhood dream job until he was admitted to the Police Academy in Warrensburg, Missouri. He graduated in May 2016 and entered into employment as a police officer in Appleton City, Missouri. He joined the Clinton Police Department in the fall of 2016-- Gary had found his dream job. Gary told his family that he planned on retiring from the CPD because he enjoyed where and who he worked with. Gary enjoyed going bow fishing, hunting, playing with his grandson and spending time with his family.

On September 25, 2015 Gary married the woman of his dreams, Cresinda (Cindy) Young. He adored Cindy and he loved to take care of her by fixing her wonderful meals or surprising her with roses. They cherished every moment they spent together.
He leaves behind a wife, Cresinda B. Michael of Clinton, Missouri; children Devin Young and wife Alysha, Danielle Jensby and husband Josh, Dalton Young and Andrew Yohe; Grandchild Taylor "Tay-Tay" Young; Mothers Melissa R. Michael of Clinton, Missouri and Darrolyn G. Lauderdale of Kansas City, Missouri; siblings Jacqueline Michael- Midkiff and husband Mark, Jennifer Ruff and husband Michael, and Charles "Chris" Michael; and many other loved ones including loving grandparents, nieces, nephews and aunts and uncles.
Gary was proceeded in death by his father Gary Lee Michael, Sr.
Services have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
