Paying respect to a fallen hero

Members of the Butler, Adrian and Drexel Fire Departments and members of the Adrian Police Department traveled to Clinton, Missouri this evening to pay respect and pray with family, friends and the community who has been shaken by this tragedy and senseless act of violence.

A balloon and flower vigil is set up at the Henry County Library for Officer Gary Michael who was shot and killed Sunday evening after a traffic stop.

The Bates County Sheriff's Office also sent members to help assist in the 2 day manhunt of the subject 39 year old Ian McCarthy of Clinton, Missouri who is in police custody at this time.

The funeral service for Officer Gary Michael will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Benson Center 1008 E. Sedalia Ave., Clinton with a lie in state from 9:00-11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri.
