Clinton Fire Department Promotion

Clinton Fire Chief Leo Huff is pleased to announce the promotion of Lieutenant Mark Manuel to Assistant Fire Chief. This promotion fills a vacancy in the Assistant Chief position for the department that has been vacant since 2001. The re-introduction of this position to the department was made possible by the recent ¼ cent sales tax that was passed by the citizens of Clinton back in April 2017.

The position will increase the departments training program tremendously, create a more detail oriented fire inspection program for local businesses, and provide for a more efficient department on many different levels.

Assistant Chief Manuel has been with the department for 24 years. He began his career as a volunteer firefighter for a short period of time before being hired as a fulltime firefighter with the department. Mark is a 1993 graduate of Clinton High School. His wife, Theresa, is employed by Clinton Head Start where she serves as a nutritionist for the facility. Together they have two daughters: Gracie, a Sophomore at Clinton High School and Lillian, a Freshman at Clinton High School. Mark’s parents are Bob and Judy Manuel who are longtime members of the Clinton community.

Assistant Chief Manuel brings an extensive amount of fire ground knowledge and expertise to the role of Assistant Chief for the department. He has received many training certificates and credentials in several areas of the fire service from technical rescue to wild land firefighting. “It is with great confidence that I know Mark will fulfill the duties of Assistant Chief for the Clinton Fire Department”, Chief Huff stated. Mark will officially resume his role of Assistant Chief on October 1, 2017.

Once again, Chief Huff and the Clinton Fire Department would like to thank the citizens of Clinton for their support. Congratulations, Mark!
