Mary "Earlene" Robinson Jenkins, 93, Adrian, MO, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Serenity Rehabilitation Center, Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Adrian United Methodist Church with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian. Memorial contributions may be made to Adrian United Methodist Church.

Earlene was born April 10, 1924 in Adrian, MO, the daughter of Edward Earl and Mary (Roblin) Robinson. She attended Coleville Elementary School until 8th grade, graduated from Adrian High School in 1941 and attended Kansas City College of Commerce. She was baptized as a junior in high school in the Grand River in Cass County. She attended the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Crescent Hill until it burned and then the Adrian United Methodist Church. Earlene worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, and after the war began, she worked at the B-25 Fairfax Bomber Plant in Kansas City, KS and Pratt & Whitney (Allied Signal).

On December 10, 1944 in Bartlesville, OK, Earlene was united in marriage to her husband of 71 years, William Karl (W.K.) Jenkins by Uncle Art Eveland. In 1949 they moved to their home and farm 4 miles northwest of Adrian in Crescent Hill. To this union six children were born. She was a strong farm woman, dedicated wife and mother who devoted her entire life to her children. Without fail she would place the needs of her children ahead of her own. W.K. and Earlene were proud that each of their six children were graduates of the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Earlene lived in her home until heath problems in May 2017. She was an accomplished pianist, and enjoyed sharing her talent by playing at church and the care center. Earlene was known for cooking simple but delicious hearty meals and her recipes were featured in several publications. She loved feeding and watching her birds out her kitchen window. She was an avid gardener; growing flowers from seed collected from her many travels. Being the daughter and a wife of World War veterans, Earlene knew what sacrifice meant and appreciated the simple pleasures of life.

Earlene was preceded in death by her husband, W.K. Jenkins, daughter-in-law, Barbara Jenkins, brother, James Robinson, brother-in law, Homer Stone. Her grandson, Alexander Jenkins joined her in heaven on November 19, 2017.
