He was born January 5, 1968 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Jerry Duane Walden and Virginia Ruth (Williams) Walden. On October 10, 2006 he married Brenda Gale Johnson in Westmoreland, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Jerry was employed with the United States Veterans Affairs as a field examiner for several years. He is a veteran of the United States Army, and has been a federal government employee since his discharge from the Army.
He enjoyed fishing, baseball and coaching little league teams.
In addition to his wife Brenda, he is survived by two sons, Justin Alexander Dycus, Kansas City, Mo., and Tyler Lee Walden, Des Moines, Iowa; his mother, Virginia Walden, Liberty, Mo.; one brother, Chris Walden and wife Leslie, Kansas City, Mo.; two nephews, Ryan Walden and wife Emily, Kansas City, Mo., and Logan Walden, Kansas City, Mo.; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry in 2010; paternal grandparents, Bill and Minnie Walden; and maternal grandparents, Otis and Daisy Williams.
Private family memorial graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2017, at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. Military services will be at the grave under the direction of the United States Army, Leavenworth, Ks. A celebration of Mike's life is planned for a later date.
