The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2008 Yamaha driven by 59 year old Steven A. Roark of Belton, Missouri struck a deer in the roadway, causing the bike overturn and slide onto its left side ejecting both riders.
Steven A Roark and a passenger 13 year old Elijah L. Smith of Belton, Missouri both sustained serious injures in this accident and both were transported by Central Cass to Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville for treatment.
The bike was towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow of Harrisonville.
