On 6/24/18 around 5:13pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County responded to a two vehicle accident on Missouri 18 Highway around 2 miles east of I-49 in rural Adrian.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 30 year old Jefferey A. Gay of Peculiar, Missouri struck the drivers side of the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 82 year old Ola B. Arney of Adrian, Missouri.
Ola B. Arney sustained minor injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Mr. Gay was arrested at the scene of the accident for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated - Alcohol 2.) Failure to register a motor vehicle. He was booked into the Bates County Jail and placed on a 12 hour detox hold.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Adrian Tow.
