The Cass County Sheriff's Office received a Special Recognition Award from the Military Order of the Purple Heart Patriot Members.
The organization was formed in 1932 for the protection and mutual interest of all who have received the decoration. Composed exclusively of Purple Heart recipients, it is the only veterans service organization comprised of strictly of "combat" veterans.
Walter Schley, Sr. Vice Commander, Department of Missouri presented the award to Cass County Sheriff Jeff Weber on Tuesday.
