From the Benton County Sheriff's Office

At approximately 5:25 pm Major Jeff Canfield sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the lower torso during our night range qualification. 

Major Canfield was taken by air ambulance to the University Hospital in Columbia. 

Our prayers go out to the Major and his family. I have no further details as of yet on his condition. I will update as information is made available.

### Update.. The Major is going to be okay. The bullet traveled in and out hitting no vital organs. Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes already received!
