Obituary - Steve M. White

Steve M. White, age 77, of Lincoln, Missouri passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born on January 15, 1947 in Warsaw, Missouri the son of Paul Mylo White and Doris Lee (Mellen) White.

Steve grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the “Old Guard.” On September 20, 1974 he was united in marriage to Katherine Stroud. They made their home in Lincoln all their married life.

Steve was employed by AT&T as a cable splicing technician and worked there until his retirement in 2002. He served as President of the Communication Workers of America and was the current President of the CWA Retired Club.

Steve was also Vice Chair of the Benton County Democrat Club. He loved horses since the age of six and it became a lifelong passion of his. He also enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren. Steve spent time hunting, fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting and growing, traveling and was known for his homemade maple syrup.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Stan Mitchell White, two sisters, Pamela Catherine White and Cassandra Diane Hardesty, and two granddaughters; Allison Paige Price and Kristian Renee Price.

Steve is survived by his wife, Katherine White, of the home, four children; Susan Renee Price (Erle), of Florence, Missouri, Steven Paul White (Terri Ann), of Sedalia, Missouri, Stephanie Diana Harris (Doug), of Meriden, Kansas and Stacy Lee White (Zach), of Lincoln, Missouri, three sisters; Paula Wallen, of Windsor, Missouri, Melanie Weatherby, of Lincoln and Holly Clancy, of Lincoln, eight grandchildren; Erle Price Jr. (Erica), of Sedalia, Kala Mae White (Jeff), of Hallsville, Missouri, Karena Leeann White (Ryan), of Hallsville, Ashlynn Rae White, of Springfield, Missouri, Dalton Raymond Harris (Campbell) of Basehor, Kansas, Sterling Diana Harris, of Meriden, Kansas, Peyton Katherine Warren, of Columbia and Riley Joanna Warren (Owen), of Lincoln.

Steve is also survived by four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held by the family at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Lincoln Methodist Church.
