Hume News

The community of Hume wishes to extend their sympathy to Chad and Jill Spangler and family on the loss of the son, Jack. Jack and his precious little smile will be missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

The Parent’s as Teachers group under the direction of coordinator Lisa Brooks has play group every Thursday from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the preschool at the Hume School.

There will be a card shower for Mildred McGee, 2379 W. Katella St., Springfield. MO 65807. Mrs. McGee will turn 97 years young on March 14.

On Saturday CCH (Christian Campus House) at MIZZOU in Columbia, Mo performed Sketches and Sweets as a fundraiser to improve technology in CCH. Performers were Kaitlee Metcalf, Tori Sears, Abby Yarick and Matt Yarick. All parents and families arrived safely and enjoyed the performance.

Jean Zinn enjoyed having her daughter, Cathy Thurow of Illinois come and stay this past weekend with her. On Saturday they enjoyed going to Nevada for a fun day out. They enjoyed meeting up with Jean’s siblings and other family members for lunch at Buzz’s. They also stopped by Moore Few where they enjoyed visiting with her brother, Orton Wilson.

The Hume Christian Church Haiti Missions will be hosting a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 21 at the Larry L. Berry Gym in Hume. If you would like to participate it will be $10.00 per team member with a maximum of 5 players. Players must be 15 years old. All participants will receive a free T-shirt. Admittance to watch is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for students. Games time will 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will also be a bake sale and if anyone would like to donate some bake goods please bring them to the school on the day of the game in the morning.
