Hume Community News 5/4/15

The community of Hume wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of Mildred McGee, age 97 formally of Hume who passed away on April 28. Services were held for her on May 2nd at the Hume Cemetery. Mildred and her husband James were always known for their hard work and beautiful yard. You could always see the McGee’s taking a daily walk and visiting with folks along the way. Our thoughts and prayers are with her daughter, Joan and family.

Rhyder Rushing celebrated his 3rd birthday on Saturday, May 2 at his home; his Daddy Josh Rushing also celebrated a birthday. The day was full of fun and lots of presents. The party was hosted by his Mommy, Holly Rushing.

Addie Rushing 5 year old daughter of Josh and Holly Rushing participated and won ranch sorting at Deerfield, Mo on Sunday in the youth division. Congratulations Addie and Mistletoe!

The County Line 4-H is hosting a 5K color run/walk for Cameron Osburn. Cameron was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes when he was 4 years old in September of 2014. Cameron has been a champ through everything. Keeping track of your diabetes is not an easy thing to do, but something that will help out Cameron a lot is an insulin pump. Cameron is having trouble with either too high of a blood sugar or too low of one. Cameron is the 5 year old son of Joey and Brandi Osburn of Hume.

The walk will be May 15, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Hume Park. Following the walk the 4-H club is having hotdogs and then a movie in the park after the walk. We will be selling t-shirts that will be ten dollars and if you don’t want to buy a t-shirt then it will be five dollars to walk in the 5K. If you do want to purchase a t-shirt, please let me know before May w12 and please pay ahead of time. Keep in mind that all the money we raise is going towards Cameron’s diabetes supplies.
