Family needing help after house fire West of Passaic

A house fire, two mile west of Passaic, destroyed the home of the John Johnson family early Friday morning April 29th. This family of five needs our help. Donations are being accepted at The Bear Stop Gas Station and Convenience Store on Fort Scott Street in Butler.

Stephanie Purtle is a former employee of the Bear Stop and a member of the family. The family is in immediate need of clothing and personal hygiene products.


  • John Johnson: Jeans Men’s size 32 waist 34 length, shirts size large, shoes size 11

  • Stephanie Purtle: Women’s Jeans size 10 shirts size large , Shoes size 6
  • Alexis age 17: Juniors Jeans size 5s in shirt size small, shoe size 6
  • Holly age 15: Girl’s Jeans size 10 , shirt size large, shoe size 6 ½
  • Roam age 11: Boy’s Size 12 , shoe size 5
  • Sydney age 5: Girls size 6x, Shoes size 12

Any and all clothing donations will be appreciated. Any personal hygiene products will be appreciated.Drop off location is the Bear Stop Gas Station in Butler.
