As cool as it gets in 1938...

In 1938, the tractor pictured at right was considered more luxurious than most cars going up and down the road.

It featured a cigar lighter, seating for two, windshield wipers and a radio.

Oh, and it's top speed was around 40 mph.

Granted, only 150 such tractors were built by Minneapolis Moline, making the UDLX model shown here quite rare. It had a whopping $2200 price tag, while most other tractors of the day cost around $800. Hence, the UDLX wasn't considered affordable by any means.

Today these highly collectible tractors are worth about $150,000.00. Wow!

If you head out to the Western Missouri Antique Tractor show this weekend, you just might see one as Minneapolis Moline is the featured tractor this year.

The show runs this Friday through Sunday at Frontier Village in Adrian.
