The charges on Robinson and Gould stem from an incident that occurred in September 2015. In October 2015, a St. Clair County deputy took a burglary report on NE 310 Private Road, Osceola. Michael Gonder reported damage to a door of his residence and several items missing from inside including a pair of camouflaged boots, a propane bottle, and a power washer. The total value of the items stolen was estimated at $2,855.

During the investigation Robinson and Gould were identified utilizing surveillance photos taken from the property. In one photo Gould is wearing the stolen boots and walking with Robinson. Contact was made with Robinson at her residence and a propane bottle matching the description of one stolen was seized as evidence. While Robinson was being taken into custody a metal can containing a plastic bag with several pills and residue was located in her possession. The items were sent to the laboratory and the residue tested positive for methamphetamine and the pills tested positive for oxycodone.

The power washer was later located at a residence on NE 100 Road, Osceola, where Robinson was residing.
