Update: Butler man tasered after verbal disturbance

On Saturday 9/3/16 shortly before midnight the Butler Police Department along with Missouri State Highway Patrol, Bates County EMS and Bates County Sheriffs Office responded to the 600 block of Rose Lane on a verbal disturbance in progress.

When officers arrived to the scene a unknown white male subject who was later identified as Kenneth L. Baxter (DOB 09/19/1972) became very angry and started to resist the officers.

A taser was deployed to subdue Mr Baxter in which he was struck in the back of the leg by the taser. He was transported to the Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Mr. Baxter is currently in custody at this time and is wanted out of Benton and Bates County for 1.) Warrant - Theft/$500 or more but less then $25,000.


More charges are pending at this time on Kenneth Baxter and he is currently being held on a $10,000 cash only bond.
