From the Bates County Sheriff's Office

The Bates County Sheriff's Office will be holding a CCW Class on November 5th at the Bates County Sheriff's Training building. The Class will be held from 8am to 5pm.

Attendees shall provide one firearm with 40 rounds to qualify. If you have wanted to get your concealed carry license then we encourage you to register for this class. With the new statutes this may be the last free class offered by the Bates County Sheriff's Office.

Under the new statutes, unless prohibited by a county ordinance, city ordinance or one of the places that you are prohibited from carrying, you will not need a license.

While the statute will allow law abiding citizens to care without a permit if you leave the state on vacation you will need a permit to carry and protect your family while outside the state.

Please call Blaine at the Bates County Sheriff's Office at 660-679-3232
