Nevada Police Department Investigate Domestic Assault

Nevada Police have concluded an investigation into a domestic assault that occurred in the early morning hours of October 25, 2016.

On 10/25/16 Nevada Police were dispatched to the 400 block of north Osage Blvd. (71 Motel) in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 23 year old female victim. It was reported that the male suspect had fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. Officers checked the area but were unsuccessful in attempting to locate the male suspect at that time.

During the investigation, officers were told that the female victim had attempted to leave the room when the male suspect pinned her down onto the bed, and started to strangle the victim. It was reported the suspect was making threats to the female during the encounter. It was also reported the female had lost consciousness during the altercation with the male suspect. The victim reported having sustained several injuries from the incident. The female was transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center for medical treatment.

Nevada officers continued with the investigation and started conducting follow ups in an attempt to locate the male suspect. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect in a residence inside the City of Nevada without further incident.

The suspect is identified as; Nevada resident, 25 year old, Blake Cooke. He is being held in the Vernon County Jail on the following charges; Domestic Assault, B Felony, & Felonious Restraint, C Felony. Cooke is being held on a $25,000 cash only bond.
