The drowning occurred at Ruark Public Swimming Beach.
The boy has been identified as 14 year old Colton J. Tyler of Greenfield, Missouri.
Missouri State Highway Patrol say the teen went under the water around 6:30 p.m. Friday evening and never resurfaced. His body was found shortly before 10 p.m.
Mr. Tyler was transported to Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
