Scattered Thunderstorms Through the 4th

Well, we have been dry for almost 48 hours and that has helped to allow some of those rivers to come down. However, that may be the extent of the good news this morning.

Thunderstorms will be possible today across northern Missouri with the potential for a few of those to be strong.

Storm chances will increase for the rest of the area tonight with several rounds of storms possible through at least Independence Day. Although widespread severe weather is not expected with these storms there is the potential for strong to isolated severe storms Monday and Tuesday.

The main threats with these storms will be for small hail and gusty winds. Also, with several rounds of storms possible the next few days, eastern Kansas and western Missouri are expected to receive another 1 to 3 inches of rain with lesser amounts across central and northern Missouri. Please don't shoot the midnight shift messengers this morning...Independence Day is our favorite holiday so, we suffer as well!
