MSHP highlighted new technologies that helped in the Henry County manhunt

Today we will highlight some of the technology officers used to capture the suspect who killed Clinton Police Officer Gary Michael. The MoSWIN interoperable radio system provided enhanced communications capabilities that allowed the various agencies to talk with each other during the search. The Bearcat armored vehicles, heavy tactical vests, and long rifles provided some measure of safety when approaching and searching various locations during the search.

The Fast ID mobile handheld device provided the ability to capture fingerprint images to make a positive identification once the suspect was apprehended.

All of this equipment in the hands of well trained and disciplined officers coupled with the support of the Clinton community led to the successful conclusion of this manhunt.
