Deputies responded to the area of South Chandler Road, north of E. St. Rt. N near Garden City after receiving a 9-1-1 call that a person had been shot. Cass County Deputies assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol located two vehicles crashed on the roadway. The driver of one vehicle was transported by Garden City Fire and flown by LifeFlight Helicopter to a Kansas City hospital with life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office for questioning. A third person was transported to an area hospital for injuries and questioned.
Detectives are still investigating the incident. No further information is available at this time.
