The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2001 Ford Explorer driven by 44 year old Carl R. Wisdom Jr. of Butler, Missouri experienced an equipment failure to the drivers side tire causing the vehicle to swerve. Driver over correct and overturned multiple times ejecting Mr. Wisdom and a back seat passenger from the vehicle.
Carl R. Wisdom Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident around 8:34am by Bates County Coroner Greg D. Mullinax. He was transported to the Bates County Coroners office in Butler, Missouri.
Two passengers in the vehicle 39 year old Ryan S. Hill of Butler, Missouri and 17 year old Arien P. Wisdom both sustained serious injuries in this accident and both were transported by air ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by Adrian Tow.
