Pipe bomb suspect under arrest
Butler Police arrested Michael Lindsay of Butler following the execution of a search warrant at 501 North Mechanic; items recovered at the residence included a sawed off shotgun and materials for making pipe bombs. Lindsay, 44, was stopped during a routine traffic stop on August 21st when officers found a pipe bomb, which was later detonated by the Kansas City Police Bomb and Arson unit. So far, Lindsay is charged with unlawful possession of an explosive weapon, a Class C Felony.
Toy Show coming to Adrian
Both young and old will want to attend the Collectible Toy Show coming on October 16th and 17th at the Adrian Optimist Building. Vendors will be on hand with all types of toys from very old to the newest collectibles. If you have toys to sell, or know someone who does, booth space is available which includes an 8 foot table and for both days of the show is only $30. For more information, call 816-297-4290 to reserve booth space and verify what type of items can be displayed.
The show will run 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 9 am to 3 pm on Sunday.

Tornado watch for Bates County until 1 am
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Bates County and surrounding areas effective until 1 am tomorrow morning. A watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop; a warning is only issued if an actual tornado has been spotted or if certain types of cloud formations are present.

Butler Senior Center breakfast scheduled for September 25th
There's nothing like a good old fashioned home cooked breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy. And you can get just that starting at 7 am on September 25th at the Butler Senior Center located at 611 West Mill street in Butler. Breakfast will be served until all the food is gone. Proceeds go towards the support of the senior center.

Lillian Louise Ryan, 95, of Adrian, MO, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Adrian Manor Nursing Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO. BCMH Scrub Sale this month
If you wear scrubs as part of your profession, you will want to attend the BCMH annual Scrub Sale on September 23rd. All day you will be able to shop name brand clothing and accessories while all money received will go towards scholarships for graduating seniors who also want to enter the medical field.
