First dog microchipped after Butler City Ordinance passed

“Sandman”, owned by the Vanmeters, was the first dog micro chipped at the Bates County Animal Clinic by Dr. Callahan.

Registering your dog in the City of Butler now consists of micro chipping. For dogs that have no chip the cost is $25 and proof of rabies vaccine. Registering a dog that already has a microchip, verified by the Animal Control Officer, will be $4.00 for one that is spayed or neutered and $8.00 for one that not spayed or neutered.

For unchipped dogs that are registered for 2014 the cost will be subtracted from the cost of the chip. Owner pays for the microchip at City Hall and is given a receipt for the chip. The receipt is given to the Animal Control Officer at either Sage Animal Clinic or Bates County Animal Clinic at time of appointment and the chip will be registered and verified by the ACO and put into the microchip database.

ACO will be available Monday through Friday 8-4 and some Saturdays by appointment. For questions call the Butler Police Department ACO at 660-679-6131. This includes ALL dogs in Butler City limits.
