On 9/4/14 around 4:30p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a 1 vehicle accident in rural Henry County. The exact location of this accident was on Highway 2 just South of Snyder's Corner on Z Highway South of Clinton.
The accident occurred when the 2001 Hyundai Elantra driven by 52 year - old Daniel C. Briden of Osceola, Missouri failed to negotiate a left turn and ran off the right side of the roadway causing the vehicle to overturn.
A female passenger in the vehicle 52 year - old Laura A. Qualls also of Osceola, Missouri received serious injuries in this accident and was life flighted to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Briden wasn't injured in this accident and was arrested at the scene for 1.) Felony driving while intoxicated (aggravated offender) 2.) Driving while suspended 3.) Careless and imprudent driving resulting in a accident.
Mr. Briden was transported to the Henry County Jail and is listed as bond able.
