Tonia Jean Wolney, age 50, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at her home. She was born on May 3, 1973 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She lived most of her life in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida until she moved to Warsaw in the early 2000's. While in Warsaw, she was employed for Mary's Catfish and More and later Mom's Kitchen where she worked as a waitress.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Pamela Wolney and a sister Roxanne Cornell.
She is survived by her father, Malcom Cornell and step mother Beth Cornell, 4 children, Jessica Winegar and her husband Parker, of Warsaw, Kayla Boucher, also of Warsaw, Dalton Boucher and his wife Johna, of Warrensburg and Alisha Vélez, of Virginia, 5 grandchildren, Remington, Jemma, Carter, James and Hayden, 3 brothers, Randy Cornell, Troy Cornell, and Malcom Cornell Jr., 6 sisters, Brenda Cornell, Natasha Wolney, Carissa Cornell, Alana Cornell, Amanda Wilkins, and Emily Cornell, and other numerous relatives and friends.

Adrian High School Boys Wrestling Team competed today at the Lone Jack Kickoff Classic
The Adrian High School Boys Wrestling Team were back in action today at the Lone Jack Kickoff Classic.
Overall we wrestled very well especially with a line up with a lot of new faces compared to last year. Overall as a team we had a record of 18-22 for 6th place with 80 points.

Semi truck fire this afternoon in Rich Hill
On Saturday December 2nd around 3:20 p.m. the Bates County Sheriff's Office responded to a semi truck fire on the northbound off ramp of I-49 in Rich Hill.
The driver of the truck wasn't injured and 3 trucks and 5 firefighters responded.

One arrested in Butler on warrant
On Thursday November 30th around 10:27 a.m. the Butler Police Department was called to a verbal disturbance in the 800 block of west Pine Street.

The Butler High School Boys Basketball Team will look to stay undefeated (3-0) tonight when the take on the Weaubleau Tigers in the Championship game of the Warsaw Tournament.

Obituary - Robert Dean Hall, Sr.
Robert Dean “R.D.” Hall, Sr., age 76 of Belton, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at home.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 515 Markey Pkwy., Belton, Missouri 64012. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
R.D. was born in Fort Scott, Kansas on August 9, 1947 to William Robert Hall and Christine Reola (Hubbard) Hall. R.D. graduated high school and furthered his education. He then enlisted in the United States Army, honorably serving his country until his retirement as Lt. Col. In his civilian life, R.D. continued working and retired from Northrup Grumman as well as the GSA. Later in life, R.D. owned and operated Sticks and Stones Camping Store. He was also a respected leader of Boy Scouts of American and Girl Scouts of America. In life, R.D. loved traveling, was family oriented, and loved his Kansas City Chiefs.
R.D. was preceded in death by his wife, Dalene Kay Hall; parents, William Hall and Christine “Rickey” Hall; and two sons, Robert Dean Hall, Jr. and Benjamin Jacob McClendon.
He is survived by his children, Edie Bruce (Alexander), Emily McClendon (Travis), Sherry Hall, and Frank Hall; grandchildren, Taylor Thompson (Seth), Candice Skivers, Hazel Hall, Wm. Kyle Faulkner, Emmett Hall, Chloe McClendon, Aiden McClendon, Bella McClendon, Sophia McClendon, Madeleine Bruce, Jack Bruce, Breanna Burkhart, Adam Burkhart; seven great grandchildren; sibling, Christine “Teen” Miller; nephew and nieces, William “Bill” Laughing Bear, Mary Renee Franco, Gayla Miller, and Janice Rivord; five great nieces and nephews; and ten great-great nieces and nephews.
His family, friends, and Scout family will always be cherished with the memories of R.D. and the lessons he taught all of us.

Archie Whirlwinds 2023 8-Man High School Football Champions
Archie Whirlwinds 2023 8-Man High School Football Champions..The #1 Archie Whirlwinds (14-0) won the 2023 Missouri State High School Football 8-Man Championship tonight in Columbia with a 40-26 win over the #3 Worth County Tigers.
Archie will win its first championship in school history! Archie was led on offense by Senior Quarterback Briar McIntire who had 26 carries 225 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns.
Archie was led on defense by Senior Defensive back Caden Sutton who had 3 interceptions on the game. Way to go Whirlwinds!!! So proud of you!
