Butler SHINE ONE set for tomorrow night July 19
As previously posted, anyone who would like to participate may join the Chamber of Commerce promotion SHINE ON tomorrow night. This is to celebrate Butler as being the first city west of the Mississippi to have electricity via its own municipal power company.
Anyone who would like to participate should bring a flashlight and meet on the Butler square and join the SHINE ON event. The words shine on will be formed by participants holding flashlights upward while Len Bartz shoots a photo from an airplane piloted by LeRoy Cook.
Come early and enjoy an old fashioned ice cream social at 6:00 pm; hot dogs, chips and drinks beginning at 6:30; Nostalgia Band concert starting at 7:00.
Be a part of a world record! According to Pat Decker, Chamber of Commerce Director, this event may qualify as a Guinness World Record being the most flashlights lit simultaneously as the SHINE ON event gets underway at 8 pm.
