Butler City Wide garage sale set for October 2
Get ready to find lots of bargains as the Butler Fall city wide garage sale is set for October 2. Those planning to have a garage sale must register either at the Exchanger or Chamber of Commerce office by 3 pm on September 22nd. The registration fee is $10; this is always a big event, so plan on being there rain or shine.

Rich Hill man arrested on arson charge
The Bates County Sheriff's Department has arrested Daniel D. Garrett of Rich Hill on a charge of 1st Degree Arson and is being held on a $25,000 bond in the Bates County jail. The arrest stems from a alleged domestic dispute and residential fire near YY Highway as reported yesterday.
