Lightning strikes investigated in Adrian
Around 7:30 this evening the Adrian Fire Department was called to 539 Hazel Street to investigate a possible lightning strike at a residence. Upon arrival, it was found that power was off to several residences along the south side of the street. No damage to the homes was found, however a Kansas City Power and Light crew was called to the same area to make repairs to a transformer. Just as the department was wrapping up the call they were dispatched to 670 East Main street to investigate another lightning strike at a residence there. No damage was found.
An eyewitness says the earlier lightning strike was quite intense and appeared to 'blanket' and hit several points in the city at the same time.
