Herding Dog Clinic coming to Butler

Area resident Jack Knox will be hosting a herding dog training clinic at his farm near Butler on October 16th and 17th. All levels and breeds of dogs are welcome. For more information and entry form contact Dotty Esher at 660-679-4672 or by email at MissouriTweed@yahoo.com


In a few weeks, Bates County Live will provide video of a demonstration a herding dog's abilities trained at the Knox farm.

Youth hunting course coming in October

Area youth will again have the chance to participate in a youth hunter education course on October 1st and 2nd. The two day course is for those age 11 and older will be held at the Butler Grade School library; participants must attend both days to get certified. The course must be completed for anyone born after January 1st, 1967 in order to purchase a firearms hunting permit.
