Butler Food Pantry overcoming adversity

Despite setbacks brought on by the September fire, the Butler Community Food Pantry is forging ahead. The photos at left are from the mass distribution held last Saturday and as seen in the background, food stockpiles are growing.

This thanks in large part to a generous outpouring from all over the community from food drives; and some (by far not all) of those responsible for helping to collect donations include: The Bates County Sheriff's Department, FM-92, Adrian Fire Department, Kevin Cameron, Ryan Dancer, the old Butler High School rummage sale, Arm & Hammer, Cook Insurance, Rockville UMC, Butler Nostalgia Band, Butler Youth Soccer and many more individuals and groups throughout the region.

The pantry provides free food items to more than 2,800 people throughout Bates County and would like to express many thanks to the community for its ongoing support.
