Feb. 14th - Driver arrested at the Adrian Commuter lot for warrant on speeding charge; peace disturbance on Seventh street; warning for speed and First and Kentucky; assisted first responders on medical call on Second street.

Feb. 15th - Citation for speeding at Main and Business 71 Highway; warrant arrest at First and Business 71 Highway.

Feb. 16th - Warning for defective equipment at First and Virginia; assisted MSHP on vehicle going the wrong way on U.S. 71 Highway, vehicle not located; citation warning for defective equipment at First and McColloh streets; assisted with medical call on Pin Oak street.

Feb. 17th - Domestic disturbance at Main and Kentucky; warning for equipment violation at 71 Highway and Fifth street; assisted with medical call on Main street; warning for speed at First and McColloh.

Feb. 18th  - Citation for fail to stop at Business 71 and Fifth street; assisted with medical call on First street.

Feb. 19th - Suspicious vehicle on Max Stevens street; citation for driving while suspended at Sixth and Houston; warning for lane violation at Main and Kentucky; warning for defective equipment at First and Business 71 highway; warning for fail to use turn signal at Business 71 and Main street.

Feb. 20th - Civil standby on Virginia street; suspicious activity on Houston street; peace disturbance, nothing found.

Feb. 21st  - Citation for driving while suspended, warrant for traffic violation arrest, citations for marijuana possession and paraphernalia possession at First and McColloh; dog complaint on Business 71 highway; arrest on stealing charge on Richmond street.

Feb. 22nd - Citation for speeding at Business 71 and Third street; traffic stop at Business 71 and Third street; dog complaint on Virginia street; responded on harassment call.

Weather update...

Although Bates County is officially under a Winter storm warning, it appears that only areas to the North of Kansas City will actually get any snow. The latest statement from the National Weather Service indicates that our area is expected to get rain and thunderstorms only with the possibility of pea sized hail as part of the mix. We will provide updates as they become available.

House fire in Butler

Around 6:15 a.m. Butler and Adrian fire departments were called to a house fire in the 300 block of West Harrison street in Butler. The structure received heavy damage.

The house is reported to be the Don Padley residence; no one was at home at the time of the fire.

Cloudy. Chance of rain...snow and sleet in the evening...then a slight chance of snow after midnight. Storm total snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Lows in the upper 20s. North winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.

Fire reported in Adrian

2:16 p.m. - The Adrian Fire Department is responding on a report of a shed on fire at 119 E. Seventh street in Adrian. No further details are available.

Use caution and watch for emergency vehicles if traveling through the area.

Brandtonies sentenced yesterday

Thomas Brandtonies Jr .was sentenced in Circuit Court yesterday on six counts of stealing pre-need funeral arrangement funds and now faces seven years jail time on the Class C and Class D felonies.

Trouble began for Brandtonies last year when it was discovered that the money was not placed in a trust fund per Missouri law and used for other reasons.
