Annual Show of Wheels 'a success'
The 4th annual Show of Wheels was held yesterday in the large parking lot just north of the Butler Detail Shop. In spite of super windy conditions, there was a large turnout of over 60 vehicles- tractors, trucks, cars and motorcycles as folks came from all over to show their pride and joy. The annual show, hosted by Dale and Jeff Douty, was turned into a fundraiser to help send local All District Choir students to New York to perform later this year.
About $17,000 is needed to fund the trip and thanks to the generosity of those attending the show, the Douty's report that $878.00 was added to the travel kitty.
The choir, made up of four Adrian and four Butler students will have the honor of performing at a New York Philharmonic Orchestra concert. Consequently, during last hour of the show the public was treated to live vocal performances by the students.
The Douty's want to extend their thanks to everyone who attended the show.
