St v. Ronnie Wayne Plunkett, Felony failure of a sex offender to report, found guilty, sentenced to 4 years in MDOC, given SES, placed on 5 years probation, to pay court costs, to get counseling/treatment as directed, Defe. Shall be subject to random drug testing, random home/vehicle searches, Defe. Shall perform 200 hours of community service as directed, Defe. Shall be under electronic monitoring for a period of 3 months. 

St v. Meredith Carson, Felony possession of controlled substance, methamphetamines, found guilty, Ct  II and III are dismissed, sentenced to 5 years in MDOC, given SES, placed on 5 years probation, to pay court costs, to successfully complete counseling/treatment as directed,  to get substanace abuse treatment and aftercare, to attend AA/NA, to be subject to random drug testing, random home/vehicle searches, shall not consume/possess any alcoholic beverages or be upon premises where sold/served, shall perform 200 hours of community service. 

St v Gregory L Dukes, Felony of possession or sale of equipment w/altered id numbers, reduced to Misd. Failure to Display Registration, guilty plea, sentenced to 6 mos in BC Jail, given SES, placed on probation for 2 years.           

Kelvin R Jones v Tommy Skinner, Petition for Order of Protection is dismissed by Petitioner. 

Alexandria Nash v Curtis Vail II, Petition for Order of Protection filed. 

Kristina M Swanson v Robert Cole Gabriel, Petition for Order of Protection filed. 

Morgan Mitchell v Lance Mitchell, Petition for Dissolution of Marriage filed. 

Derrick Eugene Frazier v Deborah Ireti-Ogo Frazier, Petition for Dissolution of Marriage filed.

April 11th - Traffic stop at First and McColloh, reported pursuit subject was stopped; defective equipment warning at Seventh and Lexington; warning for defective equipment at First and McColloh.
April 12th - Citation for public consumption of alcohol at Main and Lexington; animal call on Third street; assisted with medical call on Houston street.
April 13th - Spoke with subject regarding problems with another individual on Fifth street; dog complaint.
April 15th - Assisted County Children's Services  on Second street;  Assisted County Children's Services  on Kentucky street; report of careless and imprudent driving on Main street; warning for failure to stop at stop sign at First and Manor.
April 16th - Investigated possible identity theft on Houston street; non-injury accident on Bates street.
April 17th - Assisted with medical call on Plainview Drive.

The end of this legislative session is rapidly approaching, and instead of winding down, things in the Capitol are speeding up. While May 13 is the last day for session, May 6 is the deadline for the legislature to present a final budget to the governor for approval.

The budget bills originate in the House, and were recently sent to the Senate, where I and other members

Obituary - Helen Howell

Helen Lucille Howell, 69, Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 22 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville with visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helen Howell Memorial Fund, c/o Atkinson Funeral Home.

Helen was born July 10, 1941 in Harrisonville, MO, the daughter of Elmer and Betty (Drehle) Street. She married Joseph C. Howell on May 24, 1982 in Rich Hill, MO.

Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed being a mother to everyone. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She attended Grace Tabernacle in Harrisonville.

Helen was preceded in death by her father, a son, James “Jimmy” Parris, a brother, Carl Street and a sister, Joyce Stephens. She is survived by her husband, Joseph, of the home; six sons, Ricky Parris and wife, Sheila, Belton, MO, Doug Bowie and wife, Angela, Harrisonville, MO, Jack Bearce and wife, Crystal, Butler, MO, David Sanders, Harrisonville, MO, Chad Anderson and wife, Courtney, Butler, MO, Adrian Howell and Brittany Graham, Harrisonville, MO; two daughters, Marsha Parris, Grandview, MO and Debbie Feugate and husband, Fred, Harrisonville, MO; one step-daughter, Samantha Copeland, Macon, GA; her mother, Betty Street, Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Roy Street, Harrisonville, MO; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Butler FBLA students attend state leadership conference

Over 2,700 Missouri high school students and teachers assembled in Columbia, April 17-19, for the 52nd Annual Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference. FBLA members from Butler included Heather Lane, Natoshia Minor, Cheyenne Lesmeister, and Nathan McGuire. Heather Lane received 10th Place honors in Accounting II and Nathan McGuire received 5th Place honors in Computer Problem Solving.
