Obituary - Billy Gebhardt

Billy Gebhardt, 95, Archie, MO, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Archie. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at the Atkinson Chapel in Archie, MO.

Obituary - Jerold "Buddy" Fowler

Jerold Burton "Buddy" Fowler, age 85, of rural Adrian, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.

Buddy was born on March 8, 1926 in Coal, MO to Charles Montgomery Fowler and Minnie Belle Eberting Fowler. After school he farmed for a few years before being drafted into the Army on March 13, 1944. At the age of 19 he left for basic training at Camp Maxie, Texas. He was then sent to New Calidonia where he served as a Military Policeman for 18 months. In August 1946, Buddy received an honorable discharge at Fort Sheridan Illinois and returned home to help his father farm. Buddy and Darlene Crowder were married on March 4, 1950 in Clinton, where they made their home for several years. In 1968, they moved to rural Adrian where they raised their children, continued to farm and raised cattle. Buddy was a member of the Altona Baptist Church and was an avid collector of antique John Deere tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene of the home; three children, Jerry Fowler and wife Vickie of Butler, MO, Janet Gaylord and Kevin Fowler both of Adrian, MO; five grandchildren, JaNell Ferguson and husband Brad and Justin Colin all of Adrian, MO, JaNetta Larsen and husband Zach of Harrisonville, MO, Casey Colin and wife Abby, and Jeri Lynn Fowler all of Butler, MO; three great-grandchildren, Clayton Ferguson, Kayde Colin and Callie Ferguson; two nieces, two nephews, and a host of friends.

Preceding Buddy in death were his parents; two brothers Gene Fowler and Edgar Fowler; one sister, Olive Moulder and one nephew, Bob Fowler.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Consalus Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Consalus Funeral Home on Monday, May 16, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice and may be left in care of Consalus Funeral Home.

Downright cool this weekend...

Car stranded on curve west of Butler

Missouri Highway Patrol is currently assisting with a minor accident on the curve at K highway and 52 west of Butler. The vehicle is reported to be blocking part of the roadway- use caution if traveling through the area.

Donations needed for Fire Pup program

The Butler Fire Department is again sponsoring the 'Fire Pup' safety program to educate local children. Your donations will help provide safety education materials that will be distributed in local schools, safety fairs, public safety presentations and at fire stations.

Donations may range from $50 to sponsor materials for 20 children up to $500 for 200 children. All donations are tax deductible and should made payable to the National Fire Safety Council. Mail to the Butler Fire Department, 701 Roberta Road, Butler Mo. 64730.
Through your partnership in this program, the education of our children will help assist the Butler Fire Department to continue their goal of providing a safer community for all our citizens.

Cutshaw sentenced on multiple counts

Dewayne E. Cutshaw was found guilty on Felony possession or sale of equipment w/altered ID numbers and sentenced to 3 years in MDOC.

He was also found guilty on Felony possession or sale of equipment w/altered ID numbers—sentenced to 2 years in MDOC, given SES and placed on 5 years probation.

Sentences are to run consecutively with each other and concurrent with the defendant's Cass Co, Mo. sentence with restitution ordered in sum of $2500 and pay court costs.

Cutshaw will be required to successfully complete counseling/treatment as directed, be subject to random drug testing, random home/vehicle searches, and perform 200 hours of community service.
