Geoffrey Algiere OEF Grand Champion

(BUTLER, MO – August 15, 2011)  - According to Alan J. Mundey, Bates County 4-H Youth Specialist, the Ozark Empire Fair apparently had some bookkeeping issues this year.  A second Bates County 4-H’er was omitted from the list of Grand Champion recipients at the fair.  Geoffrey Algiere (Summit 4-H), the 14 year old son of Kimberly and Lester Algiere of Butler, received a Grand Champion ribbon on his raccoon painting.  Mundey states, “Every effort is made to give credit to our 4-H’ers for their achievements. I regret that Geoffrey was mistakenly omitted from the fair results.”  An earlier report had omitted Claire Sutton for her gift basket.
