Obituary - David Wiseman


Memorial services for David Wiseman will be 3 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Park Lawn Funeral Home (816-523-1234), 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri. Local arrangements by Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel.

David Wayne Wiseman, age 48 of Butler, Missouri died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at his home in Butler. He was born May 24, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri.

David is survived by his wife, Stacey Wiseman of Butler, Missouri; two sons, Kevin Wiseman and wife Jessica of Appleton City, Missouri and Scott Wiseman of Butler; two sisters, Terry Perucca of Kansas City, Missouri and Denise Blake and husband Gary of Independence, Missouri; three grandchildren, Trey Stewart, Araya Wiseman and Andria Wiseman; and several special nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother; one brother, Monte Wiseman; and a niece, Kelly Buczinski.

Obituary - Sandra Pierce


Sandra (Horn) Pierce, 72 of Kansas City, Mo., passed away August 22, 2011 at Timberlake Care Center in Kansas City.
Sandra was born January 2, 1939 in Kansas City, daughter of Sarah (Milstead) and Harold Louis Horn.
She was an avid and longtime Kansas City Royals fan.  She particularly enjoyed crocheting and jigsaw puzzles, and will be remembered for her love of old Western movies.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.  She is survived by her children: Shirley (Ben) Lyle of Sidney, MT.; Mary (John) Mayes of Raymore, MO.; Debbie (Gene) Gamble of Lee’s Summit, MO.; and Nancy (Glen) Ellis of Fremont, Neb. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, as well as 6 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 10 AM Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Sharon Cemetery near Drexel, Mo. There is no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Odyssey Hospice, and may be left in care of the Mullinax Funeral Home: PO Box 500, Drexel, Mo., 64742.  Written messages and memories may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Rollover accident on 71 highway near Adrian

3:29 p.m. - Bates County EMS and other emergency personnel are in route to a reported rollover accident on 71 highway near county road 14004 north of Adrian. Use extreme caution and watch for emergency vehicles if traveling through the area.

Update 3:39 p.m. - Authorities are unable to locate a vehicle, however tracks have been found in the area indicating that a vehicle had traveled off the roadway and may have driven away from the scene.

Driver ejected in rollover on AA highway

Brandon Williams, 16 of Adrian received  moderate injuries in a rollover accident around 6:50 this evening on route AA, three miles west of 71 highway. The 1996 Honda driven by Williams traveled off the right side of the roadway, over corrected, then traveled to the left side of the roadway where it overturned ejecting the driver.

Quick action was taken by a nearby resident who used a tractor to lift the vehicle in order to free the victim from the wreckage.

Williams was taken to Overland Park Regional Hospital for treatment. The Missouri Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Adrian Fire Department and the Bates County Sheriff's Department.
