Hammer and Coleman bring in winning runs for Lady Bears

The Lady Bears softball team beat Adrian for the third time this season on Monday night. The final score was 4-3. After taking the early lead, the girls allowed Adrian to score 3 runs in the fourth inning to take a 3-2 lead; however, the Lady Bears showed a ton of heart and scored 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to regain the lead. Our outfield was instrumental in this win. Centerfielder Beth Coleman caught 4 pop-flys, leftfielder Kylee Johnson caught 3, and rightfielder Sam Hammer caught 1. Sam Hammer and Beth Coleman also combined to hit in our four runs; each girl had 2 RBIs.

Butler Bears football to be streamed on line this Friday night

In cooperation with KMOE FM 92 the Bullet, Bates County Live will be streaming live play by play action of the Butler Bears football game against Van Horn this coming Friday night.

Look for a link to appear on the upper right hand side of our home page just before 7 p.m. Click on the link and your media player should open, giving you the same audio feed as what is being broadcast locally on FM 92.1.

Since bandwidth costs money, we request that only those outside the FM 92.1 listening area use the streaming service- otherwise listen to the game on our local radio station.

We would also like to stream other local ball games as well- if your school has someone interested in doing play by play broadcasting, give us a call at 913-669-5848 or email bateswire@hotmail.com
