The parking lot of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Butler was alive with all the sights, sounds and good smells of the 8th annual chili cookoff this evening sponsored by the Butler Area Ladies Ministries and the Christian Ministerial Alliance.
Butler area churches and businesses are invited to participate in the cookoff that typically raises between $800 and $1,500 per event, allowing the Butler Area Ladies Ministries to continue their mission.
Bates County Live spoke with event coordinator Barbara Lawrence who expressed a hearty thank you to all who attended this evening and wanted to remind everyone of the Fall ladies retreat scheduled for next Saturday. For more information about the retreat, contact Barbara at 660-679-4212.
