Betty Jane Christiansen, 72, Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, December 2, 2011 at her sister’s home in Independence, MO. Memorial services were held Monday, December 5, 2011 at Speaks Chapel in Independence, MO. Private inurnment will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO. (Cremation).
Betty was born July 18, 1939 in Persia, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur Harry and Rose Victoria (Cave) Martens. She married Robert A. Christiansen on June 26, 1957 in Leakesville, MS. She worked as a receptionist and cashier for Royal Chevrolet in Harrisonville for many years. She was a member of Restoration of the Covenant Fellowship in Independence, MO.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Victoria, and her husband, Robert on August 30, 2010. She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Jane Martinez and husband, Paul, Underwood, Iowa, Sheryl Lyn Cochran, Adrian, MO and Janelle Ann Chulufas and husband, Donnie, Archie, MO; three sisters, Yvonne V. Severyn, Independence, MO, Rosemary Laing, Mesa, AZ and Amy L. West, Lenexa, KS; one brother, James A Martens, Tempe, AZ; 6 grandchildren, Adam Thomas, Jason Chulufas and wife, Jessica, Emma Cochran, Victoria Martinez, Shannon Chulufas and Alexa Martinez; and 1 great-grandson, Bryce Chulufas.
