Ladder truck now 'in quarters' at Butler FD

The latest addition to the Butler Fire Department line up of equipment is a ladder truck- a 1985 Pierce recently purchased in Ohio. The addition of the truck was made possible by a $10,750 donation by Jim Roberts of the Rockville area plus a $1,000 donation from the Walmart foundation. Heiman Inc. of  Rockville and Butler also donated $1,000 each.

Ash Grove Aggregates donated transportation to and from Ohio to bring the truck (at a cost of about $1,100) to it's new home last week, along with Butler firefighter Jeff Hall.

As shown at left, 75 foot ladder makes it possible to put water exactly where it's needed especially when working structures more than one story high. Prior to the acquisition of this truck, a ladder truck would have to be brought in from Harrisonville or as far as Kansas City.

Chief Jim Henry and the department extends a hearty thank-you to all involved for making this possible.
