Car into tree sends Butler woman to hospital

Around 4:45 yesterday afternoon 68 year old Linda J. Bartley escaped serious injury in a single car accident on county road NE2504. According the the MSHP report the eastbound 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by Bartley ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a tree and came to a rest on its side.

Ms. Bartley was transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Energize Missouri Agriculture January 30th

Energize Missouri Agriculture Field Day will be held at the Bill McElwain farm in Passaic. During this event, participants will learn the basics of energy usage, and how to become more energy efficient in day-to-day farming practices. An energy auditor will demonstrate how to perform an energy assessment, and will suggest low and no-cost improvements specific to each participant. The purpose is for area farmers and their families to learn how to be energy conscious in their daily routines.

Directions to the Bill McElwain Farm:
From 71 highway, take the Passaic exit in between Butler and Adrian; take Hwy “D” east about 7 miles. The McElwain farm is located on the right.

Registration is not required, but is preferred.
