Relay for Life kickoff June 9th

Relay Around the World is this year's theme and plans are already shaping up for the Relay for Life event to be held in Butler early this Summer. The kickoff will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday June 9th on the square with the 5K & 10K walk followed by opening of team booths, games and entertainment starting at 11 a.m. The traditional luminary ceremony will be held at dusk.

FFA Family and Friends Chili Supper

The FFA Family and Friends will be having a chili supper this Friday, Feb. 3rd at the Butler high school cafeteria from 5 to 7 p.m. Chili, chicken noodle soup, vegetable beef soup, chilidogs with pie and drink are on the menu for just $5.

Body found in Rural Cass County

Cass Co. - Investigators with the Cass County Sheriff's Office and Blue Springs Police Department recovered a body in rural Cass CountySunday Morning. The Cass County Sheriff's Office was notified by Blue Springs Detectives that the body was located in rural Cass County, about 2 miles west of Garden City.

The discovery is part of an ongoing investigation by the Blue Springs Police Department. The name of the victim has not been released at this time.

Deputies and Investigators were on the scene for several hours Sunday morning assisting with the investigation. The victim's body was released to the Jackson County Medical Examiner.

Cass County Career Center Open House Feb. 9th

The Cass County Career Center will celebrate Career and Technical Education week on Thursday February 9th. You are invited to visit the Cass Career Center and see the hands-on environment.

The Cass Career Center, a NCA accredited institution, is one of Missouri’s foremost public technical schools serving secondary and adult students. Located in Harrisonville the CCC offers occupation-specific programs that are taught by industry-experienced professionals using state–of–the–art equipment.

The CCC is noted for producing winners in district, state and national skills contest in all program areas.
Nine area school districts send students to the school’s thirteen technical programs, training students the trades they wish to pursue. The PN program at the Cass County Career Center also offers Community Education classes for adult students in areas such as technology, trade and technical , health, enrichment and recreational.

Spring Courses include computer, trade and industrial and enrichments such as Internet and Email, Photoshop, Maximum Exposure to Breaking the Bank, Marketing your small business, OSHA 10 Hour construction training, basket weaving, jewelry making, quilting and many other training courses.
