Stolen saddles may be in our area...

The Miami County, Kansas Sheriff’s Office is investigating the burglary of a horse trailer, which was located on a ranch at 24487 W. 215th Street, in rural Gardner, Kansas. The trailer itself was not stolen.

Stolen from the horse trailer were the following saddles, tack and clothing:
1.Red colored leather Martin brand roping saddle. The saddle had altered stirrups, the leather on the stirrups had been carved into, to enable the stirrups to be drawn up closer than normal due to the victims height. The saddle had a 14 ½ inch rough-out seat and was valued at $2,700.00.
2.Black Wintec brand corsage saddle valued at $1,000.00
3.Billy Cook brand western ranch saddle valued at $1,200.00
4.Black vinyl horse leg wraps
5.Plaid colored Ariat coat with a velvet horse on it.
6.Misc. saddle pads
7.Unknown quantity of bridles, bits, spurs and reigns.

The victims John Deere Gator had been moved and attempted stolen, but was for one reason or another not taken. Evidence at the scene indicates the suspect vehicle may have been a red truck.
Please watch for these items being sold at livestock auctions or other locations in your community.
IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE SEEN THESE STOLEN ITEMS, PLEASE CONTACT THE MIAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AT 913-294-3232ATTENTION DET. RONNIE BURK.
