Graveside funeral services for Florence Poe will be 12:00 PM Friday, March 16, 2012 in Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City, Missouri under the direction of the Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler, Missouri (660) 679-0009. Visitation 10:30 to 11:30 AM prior to services at the Mullinax Funeral Home in Butler. Contributions, family.
Florence (Briggs) Poe, 72 of Kansas City, Missouri died March 9, 2012 at The Groves of Independence. She was born January 26, 1940 in Metz, Missouri, daughter of W.C. and Florence Briggs.
Florence was an outdoor person who particularly enjoyed gardening and fishing. Other interests included canning, and her family remembers that she always had a camera in her hand and loved pictures. She enjoyed having her family around her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands Leonard Foster and Edgar Poe; and one great-granddaughter, Giavanna Liberty. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Liberty and husband Gerry of Kansas City, Missouri; son John Foster; son Leonard Foster, Jr. and wife Theresa of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; son Charles Foster and wife Sherry of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; son Matthew Foster and wife Terrie of Falls City, Nebraska; brother Leon Briggs and wife Carolyn; sister Betty East; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Lester Foster and wife Marilyn; sister-in-law Margaret Fugate; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics promotes March as National Nutrition Month®. This year, the theme is “Get Your Plate in Shape”. The idea is for more people to use MyPlate as a way of choosing healthful, well-balanced meals.
“March is a great month to celebrate National Nutrition Month said Tammy Roberts, RD from University of Missouri Extension. “It’s a time when New Year’s resolutions may have faultered and time for us to get ourselves back on track.”
